Within tall and strong medieval walls lies one of the most beautiful coastal cities in Europe. Some call it the ‘Pearl of the Adriatic’ but to describe one of the most beautiful coastal cities of Europe it is enough to say Dubrovnik.

Regardless of whether you are visiting Dubrovnik for the first time or the hundredth, the sense of awe never fails to descend when you set eyes on the beauty of the old town. Indeed, it’s hard to imagine anyone becoming jaded by the city’s white limestone streets, baroque buildings and the endless shimmer of the Adriatic, or failing to be inspired by a walk along the ancient city walls that protected a civilized, sophisticated republic for centuries.

If you are in the mood for a little getaway, near Dubrovnik there is a small island called Lokrum which is preserved of human influence. There are many legends regarding the island. Many of which claim that it is cursed so it might just interest you.
