You can enjoy stunning views of the Adriatic Sea and the islands from the slopes of Mount Kozjak above Kaštela Bay. Numerous bicycle paths pass through Kozjak, which makes it an ideal place for sports and recreation (cycling, hiking, walking). This mountain massif also hides numerous historical attractions - from old Croatian churches to sites from the early Middle Ages that hide the autochthonous legend about the arrival of Croats - five brothers and two sisters.
Legend says one of the five brothers and two sisters, Hrvat, en. Croat (Croat in the Croatian language means Hrvat and the country's name is Croatia, i.e. Hrvatska in Croatian) was the first to settle in today's Kaštel Sućurac. That is how the Croats began to settle in today's Croatia.
The name Kozjak is a translation of the Greek name of the mountain, which is based on nearby Trogir, whose ancient Greek name Tragurion comes from tragos, which means goat.
Kozjak is an ideal place for a one-day trip by bike, where you can enjoy the beautiful view of Kaštela Bay. You can rent a bicycle at the Štacija Hotel, and HERE you can find a map of the bicycle paths in Kozjak.
